(This topic is covered in Soul Detective Level Two Training)
When the Roman Catholic Church declared reincarnation a heresy in the 500’s, they inadvertently created a problem for the sincere spiritual seekers who joined their religious orders as the fastest way to promote their own spiritual growth. The vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience for nuns and priests are taken “in perpetuity,” which means they last forever. Since the church did not believe in future incarnations, they did not realize these vows would stay written on the soul and still be there in all future lifetimes for the people in this religious order.
Many people in the healing professions have great difficulty making money and handling the business aspects of their practices because they have a vow of poverty written on their soul. Some even seem to have an aversion to being paid fairly for their services. The most important relationship we have is our connection with our own soul, so for people carrying a vow of poverty, all of life will conspire to keep money away from them so that they can maintain their integrity with their own soul. If they also have a vow of chastity, they may have difficulty establishing healthy partnerships.
A vow of poverty can be also taken for a different reason. For example, a wealthy young woman was really enjoying her life. She went for a ride in her car and was hijacked, robbed of her jewels, and murdered. As she was dying, she thought, “Being rich is not a good idea. My money got me murdered, and I was so young! I vow that in my next incarnation, I’m going to stay poor!” In this case, the vow of poverty was taken as an attempt to stay safe the next time around. But then in the next incarnation, poverty did not feel so safe either, and the woman came for a Soul Detective session to clear this vow.
Rescinding a Vow
The Soul Detective protocol uses muscle testing to find out if a vow is at the root of a current day problem, such as not being able to make money. Then we next trace when the vow was taken so we know its purpose. Next we work through the negative beliefs around the topic, such as subconscious programming branding money as evil and sexuality as unclean or the idea of needing to be poor and celibate in order to effectively serve God. We do energy work to dislodge these negative attitudes and replace them with healthier beliefs. With the acceleration of spiritual energy in our current times, we now have a new “fast track” to spiritual growth. Rather than suffering being the only way to draw close to the Divine, we now have the option of joy—filling the desires of our hearts as we live our soul’s mission.
Once a person finds a better way to accomplish the goal of serving God or of staying safe, they are ready to rescind the vow.
