Detrimental energy runs the gamut from its most mild form of the constant stream of self-critical thoughts running through a person’s mind, to a medium level of a fixed negative life belief such as “the world is not safe,” to the most extreme form of a set of distortions and negative life beliefs which constellate into the presence of an interference pattern that seems to come in from the outside.  Psychiatrist Shakuntala Modi reports in her book Remarkable Healings: A Psychiatrist Discovers Unsuspected Roots of Mental and Physical Illness that she was extremely surprised when a patient of hers named Nick who had a long history of migraine headaches, chronic fatigue, and depression was cured in one session after he reported finding an Entity in himself that had gotten into him to torture him when he was using drugs.  As this Entity talked, angels surrounded it and asked it to look within itself.  The entity transformed into a being of pure Light and then expressed sadness for all the pain it had caused Nick and “to humanity from the beginning of time.”  Dr. Modi was shocked and wondered whether the Entity was real or a figment of his imagination made up so he would not have to take responsibility for his problems.  But then she realized that whether the Entity was real or imaginary did not matter.  She decided, “What really mattered was that Nick was free of his problems.” (p.30)

Oriental Medicine calls viruses and bacteria “evil spirits” because they come in from the outside unbidden, they can invade through physical wounds, and they are only able to get in if the immune system is not strong enough to find and eliminate them.  Likewise, “dark  energies” seem to be able to infect a person when their emotional body has been wounded.

Self-Criticism

Children internalize a parental voice of guidance to help them to keep the rules of society.  This voice is heard as a constant stream of self-criticism, which does not get out of hand in normal development.  However, when a person is wounded emotionally, that person is subject to spiritual infection by a negative thought system that could be called a “Dark Angel.”  The Bible talks about a war in heaven in the book of Revelations, where Lucifer, the brightest of all the angels, wanted to be equal to God instead of serving God.  Archangel Michael and his angels went to war with Lucifer and defeated him, throwing him out of heaven, along with a third of the angels in the heavenly host who had sided with him.  These outcasts could be called “Fallen Angels.”

Detrimental Energy Protocol

Building upon the work of William Baldwin, Dr. Stone’s Soul Detective Detrimental Energy Protocol sets sacred space, then calls on help from the trans-personal realm to discover the cognitive distortions in the belief system of “the dark side,” to find the spark of light within the darkness, “the shadow gold,” and to raise its consciousness to correct the lies the fallen angels have been told so they can see the truth.  One might call this process “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Dark Angels.”  The Dark Angels are then invited to rejoin the Brotherhood of Light and to get new jobs working for Archangel Michael.

The following case example illustrates how the dark energies are able to invade through emotional wounds, their distorted belief systems, and the process of transformation of the Dark Angel into a “New Lightworker.”  Please note the difference between this protocol for transformation and the traditional approach to dark energy, which is to cast it out–to dissociate from it.  The Soul Detective process mines the gold in the heart of this shadow program, to see where the soul needs to heal and to give the Dark Angel a chance for rehabilitation rather than rejection.

Advisory note: This work may seem simple in the following write up, but it has many intricacies and needs a trained professional and spiritual protection for everyone to do it safely.

DETRIMENTAL ENERGY CASE EXAMPLE: The Passionate Crone

Solara was a wise woman, advanced in years, who desperately wanted to share the gift of her wisdom and her vision of evolved humans being able to create heaven on earth before her spirit left her body.  Problems with her physical health drained her energy, taking her out of action in the outside world, but deeper into her interior life.

Imbalanced Aura

At the beginning of her session, I measured the edges of her energy field with my six-inch dowsing rods and found that it was imbalanced, about five feet in the front, back, and right sides, but with only three inches of energy on the left side—a severe deficit.

Dark Energy

We muscle tested that the origin of her energetic imbalance was a Dark Energy which had attached to her mother and then jumped to Solara ten years ago when her mother died.  Solara’s mother had been from a poor family and had married her father when she was only 14 years old.  She became pregnant with Solara only three months after the marriage, and the family thought her parents had married because they were already pregnant.  The father’s family had a business that gave them a comfortable living but required a lot of travel.  Her father’s family treated her mother like one of the hired servants and never accepted her.  At times, her father was violent toward her mother.  Often left alone, on Sundays her mother would go down into the woods and sit on a log and cry out the misery of her life.  As a fetus, Solara absorbed all of this sorrow.

Sacred Space

We set sacred space with a pyramid of Light around us with archangels on all sides and Archangel Michael at the apex.  We invited the guardians and guardian angels of everyone involved to come into the pyramid to assist with the healing work for Solara’s soul.

We interviewed this Dark Angel and found that its purpose was to make people miserable.  Surprisingly, the dark force thought it was working for the Light!  Referring to her mother, it said, “I gave her a focus.  She was such a lost, unhappy soul.  I gave her something to do to take her mind away, a reason for it all.  I filled a vacuum.  Although she did not consciously believe that suffering brings one closer to God, this idea was present at a subconscious level in the religious teachings of her church.”

The Dark Angel further communicated, “When your mother died ten years ago, I jumped from her to you since I needed a new home, and your health started deteriorating.  I think being miserable is virtuous!”

Once we convinced the Dark Angel that the Light would never try to make people miserable, it realized it had been working for the Darkness.  Its dark employer was very determined and felt it had fertile ground for producing more misery.  The dark employer had never seen any evidence of happiness and did not want to enter what it called “some other illusion.”

Light in the Center

When we asked the Dark Angel itself to look into its center, it responded, “I can see some Light, and I am beginning to believe there is much more.  Nobody has ever questioned my job before.  I think I see that truly at my core is only goodness.  I would like to experience this other side.”

Archangel Michael invited the Dark Angel to quit its old job and get a new job working for the light.  Its new job choice was to work in war zones.  As “New Lightworker,” it said, “I can see that in war-torn countries where people are so violent, these people are also under the spell of this darkness which had me mesmerized for so long.  I want to help them see there is a better way, and that fear is the only thing that has kept them captive to the violence.  This energy can be transformed and used to help heal our world.”

To finish the work with this New Lightworker, we invited it to have Archangel Michael free it from all its energetic cords to the darkness so that it could not be yanked back into its old job.  It was happy to comply so that it could keep its job promotion.

Rainbow Ride

We muscle tested that Solara’s mother’s spirit was still earthbound, weighed down by the sorrow in her life.  We did meridian tapping to help her mother release her shame, guilt, rage, and trauma.  Then she was ready to cross, and she wanted her brother who was already in the Light to come help her get to the other side with “a rainbow ride.”

Healing and Sealing the Entry Points

Next we worked to heal and seal the places where the Dark Angel had been able to invade Solara’s energy body.  We muscle tested that it had been attached at Solara’s throat, heart, and solar plexus, which had no light in it.  When we asked the angels to repair her solar plexus, the lights started coming on.  It had attached to her heart center earlier in her life in a moment of deep unhappiness with the lack of intimacy in her life.  The residue of not feeling recognized allowed it to attach to her throat.  Solara had felt her family had not understood her, and they had joked that she had been dropped on the porch by aliens.  She was a very shy child and had never wanted to incur the wrath of her father, who used a razor strap for punishment with her and her siblings.  Solara had not been fully in touch with her own authenticity, as the throat center is about speaking one’s truth.

To heal the wounds that had allowed this Dark Angel to infect Solara, we cleared the trapped emotions of sorrow and unworthiness.  We also muscle tested that her soul had originated in another galaxy and came here to help.  Her soul purpose was to be a lover of the universe!  Seeing the core of light in Solara’s center, a nun had once told her, “You are joy!”

Multiplying the Benefits

We multiplied the benefits, inviting any other dark forces with similar jobs of making people suffer to come into our pyramid of light and get better jobs working for Archangel Michael.  We muscle tested that over seven million other dark forces converted to becoming New Lightworkers.  What a great step toward building heaven right here on earth!

After our work, the dowsing rods measured Solara’s energy field as larger and much more balanced, with about nine and a half feet on all four sides, which indicates a radiant, healthy energy body.  Solara left the session feeling much lighter, more energized, and more excited about what was yet ahead in her life.  Although issues continued to challenge her and put her into a downward physical spiral, Solara wrote the following poem soon after our session:

NEW YEAR’S DAY

On this first day

Of this new year,

In this snow-covered land

I feel a warming and a thawing

In our cold and frozen world.

I feel the opening of hearts

All over the world,

As we awaken to the warmth of Love.

Through the darkness I can see

Faint, isolated glimmers of light.

As I watch, the lights grow brighter –

Converging.

The Light-bearers begin to connect.

Soon the darkness disappears

And the world is embraced

By a warm, radiant glow –

All hearts are connected.

Our precious Earth and all of life

Are embraced by the Love

That moves the sun and the other stars.

It is the Epiphany we have envisioned;

We have awakened to who we are:

Are spirits real?  The idea that the essence of a person could survive death of the physical body is not widely accepted in science, yet most religions teach about this realm of the spirit, the part of us that never dies.  The issue of spirits comes up in the real estate business, where the problem of haunted houses is so great that each state in our country has to decide whether or not a seller must disclose the presence of a ghost to a potential buyer.  In some states, paranormal activity in a house is not required to be disclosed, but in others, it is.  In Hawaii, because of their respect for the land and spirituality, a seller is required to disclose the presence of a ghost on the property to anyone interested in purchase.

Evidence of Spirit Presence and Communication

Sometimes a deceased person will attach to a place like a former home, but other times a person who dies and is not able to make the transition into the Light seems to attach to another living person.  Technology has been developed that can actually photograph the presence of earthbound spirit attachments.  An American engineer named Patrick Richards invented a device called the Luminator to make the air temperature in a room constant from the floor to the ceiling to save on heating and cooling bills.  The device proved to be too expensive to be practical for its original purpose, but it had a side effect of creating a coherent field of light in the room so that the presence of spirit phenomena could be photographed with Polaroid photography.  The book Supercoherence:The 7th Sense (2008) by Thrity Engineer explains the process in detail and has photographs.

Before his death, Thomas Alva Edison was busy working on a device to communicate with the dead.  He and his assistant Dr. Miller Hutchinson felt this invention would contribute more to the thinking of the human race than all of Edison’s other inventions put together–the electric light, the phonograph, and motion pictures.  Edison wrote, “If our personality survives, then it is strictly logical or scientific to assume that it retains memory, intellect, other faculties, and knowledge that we acquire on this Earth. Therefore … if we can evolve an instrument so delicate as to be affected by our personality as it survives in the next life, such an instrument, when made available, ought to record something.”(www.worlditc.com)  Edison died before he could complete his communication device, but author Mark Macy was part of a group of people who went on to develop just such devices.  At first they began to receive messages through electronic voice phenomena (EVP) on tape recorders, and guess who was communicating on the other end: Thomas Edison!  In addition to Edison, other scientists who had fully crossed into the Light including Marie Curie appeared to be busy working to help those of us still on earth.  As the group of people involved in instrumental transcommunication (ITC) progressed, they began to receive messages by telephone, radios, TVs, and computers.  Sometimes whole pages of information would appear on their computer screens.  Macy notes that in order to establish this communication with the world beyond, the group of people receiving the messages needed to be in harmony with each other.  Later when the group went through personality conflicts and power struggles, they were no longer able to receive messages.  Macy’s book Spirit Faces: The Truth About the Afterlife (2006) goes into detail about the nature of their communication with those in the spirit realm and also has many photographs that show the presence of earthbound spirit attachments using Luminator technology.

At the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine (ISSEEEM) conference in 2011, Yale graduate psychiatrist Robert Alcorn presented a video of work he did with a patient whose grandmother’s spirit was attached to her.  The Luminator was running during the session, and photographer Jack Stucki took Polaroid photographs which showed visible evidence of the grandmother’s spirit attached to the patient.  As Dr. Alcorn worked to help the grandmother release and cross into the Light, the patient’s photograph became clear and coherent.  During the session an entity that said it was from the Dark Side appeared, blocking the healing process.  As Dr. Alcorn helped this entity to detach from the patient, a face that looks a little like the Phantom in the Phantom of the Opera appears to emerge from the patient’s torso on the Polaroid photograph.  Dr. Alcorn then helped the dark entity to transform and be filled with Light.  The script of this video and photographs from the session are in Dr. Alcorn’s book Healing Stories: My Journey from Mainstream Psychiatry Toward Spiritual Healing (2011).

Brazilian Spiritual Healers

Some Brazilian spiritual healers claim that 85% of all chronic illness is due to the presence of earthbound spirit attachments draining the vitality of the host.  These spirits attach to the outer layers of the energy field and over time work their way further into the host, sometimes actually taking possession of the person.  Brazilian spiritist healers invite the spirits of deceased doctors who have gone to the Light to do a process called “invisible surgery” to heal people. I was personally healed of a heart murmur in Brazil through this process of invisible surgery.

Once someone asked Carl Jung if he believed that God exists.  Jung responded, “I don’t believe, I know.”  Jung further said, “The word ‘belief’ is a difficult thing for me. I don’t believe. I must have a reason for a certain hypothesis. Likewise, now my belief in spiritual healing work is not a mental construct, it is a direct experience of a supernatural reality that healed my physical body.  The evidence beats in my chest every moment of my life.

Earthbound Spirits

In ancient times, healing and spirituality were not divorced.  A sick person went to the shaman of the tribe to find the origin of the issue.  If a person had an earthbound spirit attachment, the shaman would do a procedure they called a “depossession” to help the spirit detach from the host and cross into the Light.  A person who has a spirit attachment will experience the imprint of the problems the deceased person had while still living.  Also, the presence of the spirit attachment drains the vitality of the host.  For example, if a parent dies of cancer and attaches to a child, the immune system of the child will be compromised from the energy drain of having an attachment, and the child will then be more likely to develop the same illness as the parent. Helping the earthbound spirit cross into the world of light releases the living human from the imprint of the deceased person’s illness and gives the living person more energy to heal, without the energetic drain of the earthbound spirit.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

One famous case of haunting is that actress Jennifer Love Hewitt believed her house was haunted and contacted paranormal investigator Mary Ann Winkowski for help.  Mary Ann has the gift of being able to communicate with the deceased.  She went to Love Hewitt’s home and found the spirit of a young man who had been killed in a car crash who said he was a great fan of Jennifer.  Mary Ann found out the man’s name and address.  Further investigation showed that a man by that name at that address had been killed in a car accident.  He had gone to high school with Jennifer, and his room was plastered with posters of her.  Reports on the internet say Hewitt felt that this ghost was watching out for her.  This incident was part of the birthing of the popular TV show “Ghost Whisperer” which ran on CBS from 2005 to 2010.  Mary Ann was a consultant to the show, and Jennifer Love Hewitt was an associate producer.

What I can say with confidence is that if my client feels that she or he has an earthbound spirit attachment, if I treat that problem as if it were true, the client gets better.  The story has emotional reality to the client whether or not the situation can be objectively verified, as in the case of Jennifer Love Hewitt.

In the theory of reincarnation, the soul essence sends part of its energy to incarnate into a physical body to learn lessons and/or complete a mission here on the earth plane.  When the incarnation ends and the spirit leaves the physical body, it normally moves into a higher dimension of Light, commonly called heaven, and returns to the soul essence from which it came.  But a number of different factors can block the spirit from moving into the next world and keep it stuck on the earth plane without a physical body. Sometimes a spirit may be fragmented so that part goes into the Light at death, but parts carrying unresolved emotional burdens remain earthbound.  While the common name for this phenomenon is a “ghost,” I prefer the term “earthbound spirit.”  This spirit may attach to a person or a place, or it may wander.  When it links to the energy field of a living person, we call the situation an “earthbound spirit attachment.”

WHY DO SPIRITS GET STUCK?

A number of different problems can keep a spirit earthbound:

1. Unresolved grief of a loved one. When a loved one such as a parent, a child, or a sibling dies and a person is not able to accept the loss, the unresolved grief of the survivor seems to make an energetic pull on the deceased that prevents the spirit from fully moving into the next world.
2. Strong negative feelings at the moment of death. When a person dies in a state of terror, anger, or rage, these feelings are like lead bags holding down a hot air balloon that should rise.  They seem to chain the spirit to the gravitational field of the earth.  For example, civilians who are killed in wars often have very strong negative feelings, because soldiers are only supposed to kill other soldiers, not civilians.
3. Not knowing what to expect. People with no spiritual training may not know what to expect at the moment of death.  They may think consciousness will end, as if the lights went out and they ceased to exist.  The spirit never dies, and after it leaves the physical body, one still has feelings and can hear and see everything.  Athiests may think that they are still alive and not notice that the body they are in is not their own.  In fact, Gary Leon Hill, author of People Who Don’t Know They Are Dead quips, “Being dead is so much like being alive that many people die without realizing their condition.”
4. Confusion or disorientation at the moment of death. Other factors that may contribute to a person not realizing what is happening when everyone stops talking to them (except Soul Detectives and mediums!) are situations that impair cognitive brain functions:  head trauma such as a car accident, Alzheimer’s, or drug stupor at the moment of death either from a drug overdose or from opiates given to ease the pain of the final stage of terminal illness. Please note that most people who die make the transition into the next world just fine.  Not everyone who dies from one of the situations listed above becomes earthbound—just a few.
5. Fear of punishment. When people have done things they know are wrong, they may turn away from the Light because they fear they will be sent to a place of punishment.  People who have been raised in strict religious traditions often believe that God is an angry God who will punish them for all of their sins.  The Catholic Church has taught that after death, the soul goes into purgatory, a place of fire, where one’s sins are burned away to purify the soul before it is ready to go into heaven.  Sometimes people are so afraid they will go into purgatory or hell that they refuse to budge and stay earthbound.
6. Unfinished business. The television show Ghost Whisperer and the movie Ghost portray people who stay earthbound because of unresolved interpersonal issues.  Once the situation is resolved, they are at peace and can cross into the Light.
7. Attachment to material possessions. Some people become so attached to their material possessions that they do not want to leave them when they die.  Real estate agents know that sometimes the deceased former owner of a house has not vacated the premises and is still “living” in what that person considers his or her home.  The new occupants may hear footsteps and noises, and lights may go on and off—all signs of poltergeist activity.

 

SYMPTOMS OF HAVING AN EARTHBOUND SPIRIT ATTACHMENT

How would you know if you had an earthbound spirit attachment?  The following symptoms are clues, but Soul Detectives use muscle testing to determine whether or not someone else has invaded one’s energy field:

1. Constant Fatigue. Feeling drained of energy is the primary symptom.  While alive, we get energy from the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the electromagnetic field of the earth.  People without bodies cannot eat or drink, so they have no way to get their own energy.  They need to plug in to someone else’s energy, which drains the host.  The situation is somewhat like a vampire who steals energy from other people.  An analogy is that a living person with an earthbound spirit attachment is riding a bicycle up a hill and carrying a hitchhiker on the back of the bike who has no pedals to help push!
2. Cold Chill. Earthbound spirits drain energy, also called “chi,” from the spaces they occupy.  When entering a room where an earthbound spirit resides, one may feel a cold chill that penetrates right to the bones.  Also, the hair on the back of the neck may stand up—a very uneasy, unsafe feeling.  When I am with someone with an earthbound spirit attachment, I notice that my hands feel cold and even with turning up the heat, I still feel chilled.
3. Not Feeling Like Yourself. When someone else has invaded your energy field, you may notice that something is wrong, as if someone else’s thoughts are in your head.  The statement “I don’t feel like myself” is a clue to check whether or not you have picked up a spirit attachment.
4. Exacerbated Grief. Following someone’s death, one member of the family may have a sudden downward turn in their emotional functioning and become very confused and depressed.  The earthbound spirit of the deceased may have attached to this person, who is now experiencing the feelings of the earthbound spirit.  People often become very confused when they die and people stop talking with them and act like they do not exist anymore.  They may get very depressed, not knowing what to do next, and these feelings imprint onto the person to whom they attach.

 

HOW TO PICK UP A HITCHIKER

1. Go to a bar and drink so much that you lose consciousness. While you are “out,” the earthbound spirits of deceased alcoholics who are hanging around the bar craving another drink will fight to see who can jump into your energy field while you are unconscious so they can vicariously taste the next drink of alcohol you take.  They will also push you to drink more and more.
2. Don’t get healing for your emotional wounds. Unresolved emotional trauma leaves a “chink in the armor” of our emotional body.  An earthbound spirit with a similar emotional wound can connect through this portal.
3. Have an operation. Anesthesia during surgery also opens the psychic gate, as if leaving the front door of one’s house open so anyone  can walk in.  Hospitals regularly  have earthbound spirits of people who died there looking for some nice
   person to go home with.
4. Get an organ transplant. Once in awhile the earthbound spirit of the organ donor will come along with your new organ.
5. Don’t let go of your  loved ones when they die. Tell them, “Stay with me!  I can’t survive without you!”  They might just honor your request and attach  to your energy field.

 

TREATMENT

Call In Spiritual Help

When Soul Detectives work with earthbound spirits, we always call in trans-personal helpers—angels, guardians, and religious figures.  When working with spirits, we need spiritual help!

Treat the Spirit First

First we treat the discarnate spirit as if that person were the client. Since the spirit is attached to a living person, we can find the exact nature of the spirit’s past life trauma (their immediate past life) with muscle testing.  Also, because their energy system is linked to that of the host, when the client taps, the earthbound spirit also receives the benefits of the tapping!

Once the emotional trauma of the earthbound spirit is dissolved, we call in loved ones already in the Light to accompany them on their journey into the next world and spiritual helpers to make a safe transition back into the Light.

Treat the Wound in the Host

The last step in the Soul Detective Earthbound Spirit Protocol is to treat the emotional wound in the host which allowed the spirit to attach to prevent further invasion of the energy field.  This protocol to release earthbound spirit attachments is elaborated in my book Invisible Roots: How Healing Past Life Trauma Can Liberate Your Present.

Some energetic cords are beneficial.  When we ask for help from the spiritual realm in the form of angels, spirit guides, ascended masters, and other Beings of Light, we are establishing beneficial energetic cords through which information can flow to guide our lives and help us with specific missions.  Mothers frequently have energetic cords to their babies through which they communicate so they can understand the baby’s needs.  Healthy mothers have cords to the hearts of their children through which love flows, all of their lives.   These cords are all beneficial.  But sometimes energetic cords between people are detrimental.

TYPES OF DETRIMENTAL ENERGETIC CORDS

Cords of Control

For example, if a parent still has an energetic cord of wanting to control the behavior of a child when that child has reached adulthood, this refusal to “cut the apron strings” will damage the child’s ability to learn to fend on one’s own.  Bosses may try to control the behavior of their employees through yelling, episodes of irrational outbursts, and unrealistic demands which set up a fear pattern in their workers which then leaves them vulnerable to their power center getting corded to the boss.  Unscrupulous gurus may use cords of control to get their devotees to give them money.

Sexual Cords

Sexual union creates energetic cords between people.  In a healthy, committed marriage, these cords help strengthen the marriage and family ties.  When a couple goes through a divorce, dissolving the legal aspect of the marriage does not release the energetic cords between the two people.  Sometimes former spouses are so hurt by the separation and settlement of property and custodial rights for the children that they hate each other and use the energetic connection between them to channel anger and rage to the ex-spouse.

Casual sexual encounters also create energetic cords between the two parties.  Cultures disagree on how long these energetic connections last.  The longest time I have heard is that they endure throughout the entire lifetime.  The shortest time I have heard is that they last one month.  In Russia, the traditional belief is that they last for seven years.

When a relationship ends and one person cannot stop thinking about the former partner, the two people are probably still corded with one or both unable to let go of the energetic connection.

Energy Straws

People who are feeling depleted may unconsciously send an energetic cord into the power center of another person to suck out energy, even if the other person is just a friend and not a sexual partner.  This kind of cord usually dissolves once one is no longer in the physical presence of that person.  We talk about feeling drained after having spent time with a very needy person.  One partner in a dysfunctional relationship may draw on the vitality of the other one on an ongoing basis rather than building independent sources of energy.

 

RELEASING ENERGETIC CORDS

The Soul Detective protocol to release detrimental energetic cords uses muscle testing to count how many energetic cords are present and to determine exactly where each one connects in the energy system—whether to biofields, chakras, meridians, or
organs.  The person then senses into the cord to get more information on how it is configured and perhaps why it is there.  Then we call in trans-personal help to do whatever is necessary to release the cord and heal and seal the place of attachment.

Curses and hexes are specialized types of energetic cords which have detrimental effects.

A curse may be made in a moment of anger, when the well of pain inside of oneself throws an energetic “slime ball” at the energy field of the target with the words, “Damn you!” or some other malevolent thought.   A curse may also be consciously sent from one person to another.  One can hire practitioners of the dark arts to curse or hex someone you do not like.

For example, in Africa, a person who is angry with a neighbor can hire a Native Doctor to “bewitch” the neighbor, either putting something into the neighbor’s food or sending the bewitchment through the air.  When the neighbor begins to feel ill, he will go to the Native Doctor to purchase the antidote to the bewitchment.  Who is profiting from this system?  You figure it out!

A hex is a consciously configured detrimental program usually created by a professional to bind the life energy of the target in a specific way.  The beautiful hex signs on Amish barns are placed there to bring good luck, and also to protect the family and the farm from hexes.  An example of a hex would be a Latino woman in love with a man who is involved with another woman hiring a practitioner of the dark arts, a witch or bruja, to place a hex on the other woman so she will get sick.  The woman is hoping that when her rival gets sick, the man she loves will lose interest in the other woman and come to her.

I do not recommend the practice, because of the law of karma is that “What you sow you will reap.”  Whatever you do to others will come back to you.  She may get the man, but then another woman who wants her out of the way may hire another bruja to place a hex on her!

By the way, the law of karma works both ways.  If you do good things for others, a blessing comes back to you.  But if you cheat or hurt others, that negative energy falls back on you—and practitioners of earth wisdom say it comes back threefold!

Protection from a Curse

When I visited Rwanda on a humanitarian mission in 2009, our translator told us about a curse that had come upon his family.  Many people in Africa worship their ancestors and dialog with them, asking for favors.  Our translator’s father asked his ancestors for something specific that he wanted.  The ancestors agreed to give it to him, on the condition that after he received it, he would sacrifice a bull in their honor.  His father agreed, and he got what he wanted.  Then he reneged on his part of the agreement and did not go to the expense of purchasing and sacrificing the bull.  The ancestors became angry with him for not keeping their bargain and placed a curse on his children.  One by one, six of his seven adult children died of illnesses and accidents over the course of the next year.  Our translator was the only surviving sibling.  In amazement, I asked him, “Why didn’t you die too?”

He explained, “That is easy.  I am a Christian, and the blood of Christ protects me from harm.”

CASE EXAMPLE OF A CURSE

Adrienne was a chiropractor whose beloved older sister Iris had just been diagnosed with end stage ovarian cancer.  Iris lived at a distance, but she gave Adrienne permission to do remote surrogate energy healing work on her.  Adrienne started doing an energy technique she had learned called Neuromodulation Technique (NMT) (online at www.neuromodulationtechnique.com).  Several days later, as Adrienne was washing the dishes, out of the blue, her framed NMT certificate fell off of the wall with a loud bang.  This crash scared her at first, but then she decided the angels of healing were trying to tell her to keep doing more NMT on Iris.

The Firstborn Dies Young

The two weeks between the time Iris was diagnosed and the time that her entire family of origin gathered to say goodbye to her were filled with emotional turmoil.  Adrienne could not figure out how her dynamic, energetic sister Iris could be dying from cancer. On the flight to her sister’s home, she was reading a book her husband had given her titled Love’s Own Truths by Bert Hellinger about family patterns being handed down through the generations.  She noticed a pattern on her father’s side of the family that formerly had seemed like isolated, unconnected events:

Grandfather Albert had three children: Christopher, Linda, and Paul, Adrienne’s father.  In the first generation of Albert’s descendents, his firstborn child Christopher died young in his 40’s of kidney  complications from diabetes.

• In the second generation of descendants,  Christopher’s firstborn child died of cancer in his 40’s.
• Linda’s firstborn died in an accident in his 30’s.
• And now the doctors were saying that Paul’s firstborn, Iris, was about to die in her 40’s.

Adrienne realized that her family had a pattern of the firstborn child dying young.

The pattern seemed to also be extending into the next generation as the firstborn of Iris was having life-threatening asthma attacks, unresponsive to medication and to the finest allopathic and complementary health care treatments available.

With the family all gathered together, Adrienne explained the family pattern she had spotted, and everyone agreed to a family healing session. Adrienne used Bert Hellinger’s family constellation healing protocol.  She first inquired whether anyone in the family had died in an unusual manner.

Getting Away with Murder

Her father disclosed that his father’s brother Henry had been murdered.  Uncle Henry had taken a woman who was separated from her husband to a dance.  The woman’s husband became enraged and ambushed their horse and buggy after the dance.  The man shot and killed Henry.  Grandfather Albert was heartbroken.  His brother Henry was over a decade younger, and Albert had always taken care of him growing up.  Albert was almost like a father to Henry.

The murderer was never punished, as the attitude in the early 1900’s was, “You don’t mess with a man’s wife.”  Women were considered the property of the man, like a horse, and if somebody tries to steal your horse, you have the right to shoot him.

“I Want the Death Penalty!”

Adrienne next asked family members to role play their ancestors to find out how the energy had constellated.  The surrogate who stood in Grandpa Albert’s place felt cheated in life because his brother had been killed and his first wife died a few years after they were married from a sudden illness.  The energy peaked when Albert’s surrogate exclaimed the curse,  “I want the death penalty for the man who killed my brother!”  The family fully understood this feeling from Albert’s deep grief and loss.  However, Albert wanted the authorities to execute the man who had murdered his brother.

He wanted the murderer to die young, just like his brother had. Because the energy of this curse did not land on the person intended, the early death pattern boomeranged back to Albert and fell upon the one he loved the most—his firstborn child Christopher.  The curse also fell on the firstborn of all of his children and was starting to affect the firstborn of his grandchildren.

Reconciliation

Adrienne did healing work with Albert, his brother Henry, and the man who murdered Henry, who were all now united in death.  Grandfather Albert was able to release his lack of forgiveness, which cancelled the curse.  The three men involved were reconciled.  The family felt as if a heavy, dark burden had dissolved.

Iris had been unconscious and on the brink of death before this curse was lifted.  Too weak for chemotherapy, the cancer was advancing rapidly, and the doctors said her chances of dying from this illness were 99.9%.

The Time Is Now!

Adrienne called her husband, who was also an NMT practitioner, to tell him the bad news about the prognosis for Iris.  Spirit had been urging him to do remote NMT healing for Iris all day, even though he had a full schedule.  So over the phone, he surrogate tested what to work on, and Adrienne did a surrogate treatment for her sister on her own body while standing in the hospital hallway outside of her room.  When he muscle tested, “She wants to live,” the answer was negative.  When he tested, “She wants to die,” the test was again negative.  He realized Iris was divided within herself on whether to live or whether to die.  He felt that had Iris been unified in wanting to die, she would probably not have survived her surgery, which removed tumors the size of several oranges.

Adrienne’s husband felt a transfer of energy happen from him to Iris during this treatment and was absolutely exhausted afterwards, almost as if the physical system of Iris had so little chi of its own that she would not have been able to enter the NMT corrections into her nervous system if he had not sent some of his own personal chi to her out of his love and care for her.

When the family arrived at the hospital the next day, to their surprise, Iris had improved enough to take out her breathing tube!  Instead of telling them all that she loved them (the expected goodbye speech of the almost deceased), Iris muttered that she wanted to brush her teeth.  She glared at the family awhile, with an expression like, “Why are you all standing around acting like I am going to die?”   Then she sent everyone home.

Turnaround

That night Iris called in her firstborn and told her, “I’m not going anywhere!  I’m going to beat this illness.” With her energy field unified, she had chosen life with her whole heart.  Before the curse was lifted, it blocked the NMT protocols Adrienne had done for Iris.  But once the curse was lifted, the NMT that her husband did worked!  The physicians had not done anything to treat the cancer, but it was going into remission.

Adrienne contacted the originator of NMT, Dr. Leslie Feinberg, to work with Iris over the phone because of his highly successful work with cancer patients.  He was warm and engaging and gave them an appointment that very day even though it was Christmas Eve.  Iris improved so rapidly that she was able to leave Intensive Care and go into a regular hospital room that same day.  Iris told Adrienne, “That Dr. Feingold is really good.”

Adrienne answered, “He sure is, but his name is Dr. Feinberg.”

Christmas

Iris ordered the exact health food she wanted to eat for Christmas dinner the next day.  Then her four children had a problem: since Iris had been unconscious and not expected to live, nobody had bought a Christmas present for her!  So they did an emergency shopping trip.

Adrienne stayed overnight in the hospital with her beloved sister Iris.  When the others left, Iris looked at her and beamed a radiant smile, from ear to ear.  Iris and Adrienne had a long heart-to-heart talk in the middle of the night about their relationship as children, their parents, and their present lives.  When Adrienne told Iris about the curse they had lifted from the family, she responded, “That is chilling!”  Iris told Adrienne again, “The work of Dr. Feinstein really helped me.”

Adrienne answered, “Yes, he’s terrific, and his name is Dr. Feinberg.”

The next morning, Christmas Day, two of the doctors from the hospital came into her room and found Iris perky and smiling.  They knew that they had not done anything to treat her cancer.  They looked somewhat dumbfounded and remarked how sick she had been in ICU just a few days earlier.  She told them, “I’m very happy to be alive, and I thank you for saving my life.”  Not wanting to appear weird, nobody in the family mentioned anything about the NMT treatments to the hospital personnel!

The physicians inquired, “Do you have any pain?”

As Adrienne stared at the swollen belly of Iris, her colostomy, and the six tubes coming out of her torso, Iris replied, “No.”  She was not on any pain medication and had no pain.  This event in itself felt like a miracle.  Adrienne could visibly see the swelling in her sister’s belly going down and the light coming back into her eyes.

NMT Treatments

Dr. Feinberg worked with Iris on each issue as it came up.  To the great amazement of her physicians and the joy of her family, in a matter of weeks, Iris no longer needed any of the drainage tubes.  She improved so much that she was discharged from the hospital and airlifted to an alternative cancer treatment clinic in Mexico.  Unfortunately, on the way to Mexico, the chartered plane flew too high, and she had difficulty breathing at that altitude.  Her heart rate spiked at 250 beats per minute.  She had to land only half way to Mexico and then relapsed.  Still, in the two months from the time of lifting the curse until her death, Iris did a tremendous amount of personal and family healing work.  Her daughter’s asthma also cleared.

Healing Gifts

When the time came to unplug the machines, Iris had given her whole family an enormous gift: release of “the firstborn dies young” curse on the next generation of Albert’s descendants.  Dr. Feinberg also made an important discovery through his work with Iris that benefited others who came after her.

Webster defines soul as “the immaterial essence, animating principle, or actuating cause of an individual life.”  The soul is the part of us that never dies, our spiritual essence that holds a record of all the experiences we have ever had in all of our lifetimes.  To grow, the soul sends part of its essence into incarnation in a physical body to learn a specific lesson or to accomplish a particular mission.  According to author Michael Newton, we always keep some of our soul essence in the higher planes and may send only 20 or 30% of our soul essence into an incarnation.

Past Life Soul Loss

Normally when we die, the piece of our soul we sent into the incarnation leaves the physical body and returns back to the rest of our soul essence in the higher realms of Light. However, with past life trauma, the piece of soul energy of an individual lifetime may get stuck on the earth plane after death.  Traditionally, shamans have trained to go into other worlds to find these missing soul pieces and return them to the owner.

Present Life Soul Loss

Another form of soul loss happens during an incarnation when a person goes through trauma so horrible that part of the soul essence checks out.  Children repeatedly abused by their caretakers may have part of their soul essence split off, unable to stand the suffering.  Veterans who have witnessed too many atrocities in wartime may be unable to stay open to their own feelings, and it seems as if their souls have abandoned ship because of the horrors they have been through.  A person with soul loss may have a hollow stare in the eyes, as if nobody is home.  The technical psychological term for this problem is dissociation.

Soul Detective Protocol for Healing Soul Loss

The Soul Detective protocol for healing soul loss first muscle tests for the number of soul fragments lost and identifies whether they were lost in the present life or in a past life.  If the trauma that caused the soul loss is in a past life, we use the past life protocol, watching for where the trauma was so unbearable that the soul had to leave.

If the soul loss is from the current lifetime, we identify the age that each soul fragment split off and then treat the trauma causing the fragmentation with energy therapy.

CASE EXAMPLE OF SOUL LOSS: HEINRICH

Francine came to therapy for her severe ambivalence about being in relationship with the man in her life.  We traced the ambivalence to an incarnation as a male named Heinrich born in the year 556 AD, in the area now called Germany.   Heinrich’s happiest moment was at age 14, when he was enraptured by a vision of Christ.  He joined a Franciscan order of monks, totally dedicating his life to God.

Stabbed in the Back

At age 19, he and two other monks were outside working in the fields.  Enemies came and killed the other two monks.  They stabbed Heinrich from the back, puncturing his lung.  He tried to run to warn the others, but could not because he was overweight, wounded, and operating on only one lung.  He lived for thirty-three minutes after being stabbed, severely traumatized by seeing the deaths of his two brother monks and blaming himself for not being able to protect the others.  His shame at being powerless to help kept his spirit earthbound.

After treating Heinrich’s shame and powerlessness with energy tapping, he was ready to cross into the Light.  Jesus came for him, and he wept profusely!

Soul Lesson

Francine was able to connect this past life with her relationship pattern of codependency, feeling responsible for all the disruptive energy in the relationship with her partner.  The soul lesson for Heinrich was, “Everything is not always my fault.    I don’t have to be perfect for God to love me!” Francine applied this lesson to her current incarnation in two ways:

1. She realized that her partner had his own issues and was responsible for his own soul growth.
2. She also saw that she had been trying to be perfect so others could love her, but being perfect is impossible!   After this session, she was better able to accept her own imperfections and to feel worthy of love in an intimate personal relationship.
